The purpose of a MARAC is:
o To share information to increase safety, health & well-
o To determine whether the perpetrator poses significant risk to any individual or to the general community
o To construct jointly & implement a risk management plan providing professional support to all those at risk
o To reduce risk of harm & to reduce repeat victimisation
o To improve agency accountability
o Improve support for staff involved in high risk DV cases
MARAC’s
A MARAC is a Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference, they are held once a month on the first Thursday of every month. A MARAC is chaired by a senior police officer and is attended by all the key agencies within the area.
